GameStop is showing Coinbase how to NFT

GameStop knows how to be in the news. Their new NFT marketplace which launched on July 11 has done over 5,000 ETH in trading volume since. According to CoinDesk this is more than 2x of the total volume of Coinbase. Guess Coinbase should hire the marketing team at GameStop?

MetaBoy is the current top collection with sales of over 1,200 ETH.

So what gives?

• GameStop has hardcore fans who will support their new launches

• Crypto Twitter has been fairly positive about the new NFT platform

• GameStop launched a crypto and NFT wallet in May

• They created a $100M gaming fund

• Partnered with Immutable X for building out the marketplace back end

While GameStop had a decent start it still has a ways to go. OpenSea did about $120M in ETH sales last week.

Our take is to keep an eye on projects launching exclusively on this NFT platform to see how they perform.
