Goblintown gives masterclass on NFT marketing

So how do you launch a NFT in a bear market? Goblintown which launched on May 19th has all the answers. Currently the floor is about 6 ETH or $11,500 at time of writing.

Be different:

  • Launch for free. Other collections are asking 1-2 ETH. How about just gas fees?

  • The Goblin PFPs are ugly as hell. Most projects try to go for cute or pixelated art. Why follow the crowd?

  • No roadmap. No discord. No utility. WTF? Well most teams don't deliver on their roadmaps anyways.

  • Host a Twitter spaces and speak Goblin for 3 hours.

  • Troll the accounts of other popular NFTs.

Be mysterious:

  • No one knows who is on the team. Some are guessing Yuga Labs is behind it.

  • Respond to all inquires in Goblin Talk

  • Yea exactly

What we know:

All of the above can also get you a date if you are single.

DOJ going heavy on former OpenSea Head of Product

Nate Chasten was the former Head of Product at OpenSea before he was let go in September of last year for unethical behaviour. OpenSea is the most popular NFT marketplace by volume with a homepage featuring upcoming NFT collections.

So what did he do?

1/ Nate bought NFTs in secret before they were featured on the OpenSea.io homepage. He also happened to be responsible for selecting which ones would appear. Oh geez.

2/ After the NFT collections featured he then flipped them for 2-5X in profit by using anon wallets. Or he thought they were anon until someone on Crypto Twitter called this out.

3/ Opensea most likely forced him out although it was announced as him leaving the company.

4/ Nate took the heat on Twitter for months afterwards and eventually started shopping around an investment deck for a new NFT related company he was starting.

What does this mean?

Nate will be hitting pause on his new project. He was formally arrested and the government is using him as an example to warn current and former crypto fraudsters. The total jail time could be 40 years.

Will he get the 40 years? We hope not.

Kanye + NFTs = ???

First he hates on it now he banks on it. A few interesting take aways from the 17 trademarks filed around YEEZUS:

  • Providing an online marketplace for buyers of crypto and/digital collectibles, currencies, tokens, and assets. So you mean an exchange?

  • Apparel, video games, retail stores, amusement parks, cosmetics, and more. So you mean everything?

Our Take: Kanye knows how to print cash with his name. Look at his shoe and clothing collabs.
