MUSHROOM ALPHA
Friday. Last day of the work week. We got 99 problems but crypto ain't one. There we did our best impression of Jay-Z. Don't ask us to rap again.
Today's Topics:
Jack and Jay-Z launch a Bitcoin course
Tokenomic Trends
ApeCoin staying on Ethereum

Jack and Jay-Z launch a Bitcoin course

Jack Dorsey and HOV teamed up for what we hoped would be a new single but instead we got a Bitcoin academy. The Bitcoin Academy will be only for Marcy Houses residents. This is the same housing project Jay-Z spent his formative years and the inspiration for many of his tracks.
So what will they be learning?
Education on Bitcoin and finance via online or in person classes. The goal is to explore Bitcoin as a tool for financial freedom. Basics such as how to avoid scams will also be covered.
There will also be a "Crypto Kids Camp" for children from 5-17.
Online courses have a bad rap. No pun intended. A 2019 study by MIT showed that online courses have an insane 96% drop out rate. It makes your local gym churn look like kindergarten. Can't say we have high hopes on this one as much as we love crypto.
What else do they get?
Each student will get a small amount of Bitcoin. Course participants will also get a MiFi device with a year plan and smartphone if needed. Those attending in person classes will also get dinner. We can get behind that.
How we would run it: If we had the deep pockets of the dual Js we would give each family in the Macy Houses a Bitcoin and teach them how to spend it.
Tokenomic Trends
Thinking about launching a token in this market?
Or granting future tokens to employees and investors?
We did some analysis on the latest tokenomics benchmarks and trends to help you plan your critical token decisions.

Robin Ji hooked it up with a comprehensive thread on tokenomics. Interesting to see the orange 'Public Sales' portion get reduced from 55% to 3% over the last 5 years. The strategy seems to be shifting towards rewarding users.
The green 'Community Incentives or Distributions' portion of the charts are for users getting airdropped tokens.

ApeCoin staying on Ethereum

The ApeCoin DAO voted and they will stay with the Ethereum ecosystem. 53.62% of the people voted in favor. ApeCoin was the token created by Yuga Labs to be the native coin for the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT project. Holders of APE can vote on governance in the DAO.
Option two would be to build their own Layer 1 blockchain. We call that path insanity mode. We've never been able to beat any game on insanity.
This decision has implications for the Ethereum ecosystem and it is good to see them stay on the ETH ship. We salute them.
