Mirror Launches Web3 Subscriptions

Image: Mirror.xyz

Mirror.xyz the Medium of Web3 is launching the ability to subscribe to content creators on the platform using a crypto wallet. Users will also get an e-mail when new content is created.

The company is focusing on using crypto wallets to:

  • Build a wallet-based community usable on web3

  • Make wallets the ID of web3 instead of email

  • Allow ownership, collection, support and governance

  • Open up new ways to create content and engagement

Our take: A very novel concept since e-mails do not contain "money" and are only open to certain types of content being sent. For example you can't send an NFT using your email. Being wallet based you could.

In recent months we have also noticed a lot of Web3 publishers choosing to publish content on mirror.xyz vs other content publishing sites. They seem to have traction and we might have to look at pushing there soon as well.

A real life example of subscribing from a great newsletter we follow: This Week in Music NFTs

Want to start something in Web3?

Sign up for this course in the fall and make your dreams a reality. Should you wait for this course before you launch? No. Always launch first and wait for nothing but it could help.

State of Fantom

Great thread on what is going on with Fantom. Overview, data sources, transaction volume and more. @Fantom_Intern digs in deep.

Quick Headlines

FTX US launches stock trading to all users in USA - It will be free and will not use payment for order flow. Interesting shift away from the Robinhood strategy.

Algorand CEO is leaving the company - Plans to advise until middle of next year. Not a bullish sign for Algorand. Jim Cramer would tell you to sell.

Funding News:

Unstoppable Domains goes Unicorn with $65M Series A - They sell NFT based domains which can be used with crypto wallets.

Center raises $11M seed round - The company is trying to organize and index "all" NFTs. Sounds like they are trying to be the Google of NFTs. We like it.

Cuts:

Immutable the NFT gaming company lets go of over 20 headcount - Creator of Gods Unchained cites it as a "small reorganization". They should just call it what it is. Layoffs.

No one believes Jim Cramer anymore. LOL.
