Were you at VeeCon?

Gary Vaynerchuk slayed the first inaugural VeeCon over the weekend in Minneapolis, Minnesota. For 3 days people listened to talks, jammed to music, and raged. Those lucky enough to go needed to have at least one NFT from the VeeFriends vault. Current prices are around 15K so def not cheap.

For us NFTs are about art so we were pumped to see Beeple and pplpleasr show up. The 150 speaker lineup also included Mila Kunis, Steve Aoki, Spike Lee and Snoop Dogg.

OpenSea launches Seaport

Seaport is a new Web3 marketplace protocol. The big news here is it is open source so anyone can build on it. Think of it as UniSwap for NFTs.

Highlights from atareh.eth who broke it down for non technical people:

1/ OpenSea is trying to decentralize the tech behind NFTs via open source

2/ It could open up new token standards away from ERC-721

3/ Trade for ETH or other NFTs. Maximum flexibility between traders.

4/ You can dictate what you want for what you have. For example, trade your Punk for 2 purple Moonbirds.

5/ Run a Dutch Auction

6/ Innovation will rise

Not everyone is bullish on STEPN

STEPN, a Solana based Play to Earn game we talked about in the past is being dunked on. This a good thing as game projects go through hype cycles. Right now STEPN is hot but will this last?

Our bet is no. Similar to people calling out Luna before it blew up, we say if you are up on STEPN take some chips off the table.
